This is so good! Well written. It reminds me of Meister Eckhart who says that if you do anything for any other reason other than the love of God, you love those reasons more than you love God.
I particularly like the part where you talk about having one foot in the world and one foot with God, this idea of how close can I walk to the line while still being good with God. Love it!
So good! It’s all about our hearts! I am learning that the gateway to our heart is actually our ears! How are we receiving the word of God? Psalm 95, Hebrews 3-4, James 1
I started to relook the way I thought about sin, and it goes back to why God created us in the first place. We were made to know, love, and serve God, and that requires relationship with Him. In life, we do two types of things: things that bring us to God and things that drive us away. Sin is the latter, and to your point - without surrendering every breath, every moment to God, we are driving ourselves away from Him who deeply desires union with us.

Truth.. so easy in todays world to make excuses, and to drift away.. it’s also devestating to watch leaders and pastors do so.
Living in a daily state of repentance, asking for gods forgiveness is key.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9 KJV

so well said, thank you for your support, Brian!
So well said. Yes, surrender, our least favorite word, but it holds the key to so much!
it truly does!
